The neighbourhood of Humewood - Cedarvale, is made up - as its name suggests - of two neighbourhoods - Humewood (to the south of Cedarvale Park) and Cedarvale (north of Cedarvale Park) and includes those streets from Eglinton to the North and St. Clair to the South with Bathurst as its easterly boundary and Winnett Avenue its westerly boundary north of Cedarvale Park, and Arlington Avenue its westerly boundary south of Cedarvale Park.

The Wychwood (Hillcrest) neighbourhood is viewed to encompass streets from St. Clair on the North to Davenport on the South and from just East of Bathurst to Oakwood Avenue on the West - (Streets like Ellsworth, Helena, Alcina, Benson, Tyrrel, lower Arlington , lower Rushton, Hendrick, Greensides, Alberta, Biggar, Rosemount, Burlington, Mt. Royal.) Hillcrest/Wychwood includes the micro neighbourhoods of Castle Loma (Hilton/Lyndhurst/Wells Hill) & Wychwood Park & Bracondale (Conrad,Turner, Bracondale, Hillcrest). Except for it's pockets of larger (read more "expensive") homes generally found in Wychwood Park, Bracondale & in the Casa Loma/Hilton neighbourhoods, and those larger properties just north of St. Clair - much of The Humewood - Hillcrest neighbourhood would have, at one time, been considered "working class". Given the general rise of pricing levels throughout Toronto's 416 area code of the last few years - however - it's probably safe to say that most of the more recent emigres to The Humewood - Hillcrest area may be thought of as predominantly middle class.
While home prices in The Humewood - Hillcrest neighbourhoods (around Bathurst & St. Clair & Christie Davenport) may still be considered "expensive" by most standards, this neighbourhood does feature some entry level homes (ie more modest row houses & semis, with a few smaller bungalows) which dot its leafy streets and help to make this a "neighbourhood" in the truest sense of the word. Here, the mix of more modest homes - in close proximity to larger more expensive homes - combines with some rental stock (mostly lower density) - to create in The Humewood - Hillcrest neighbourhood a blend of people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds (both "New Canadians" and long-time residents from many ethnic backgrounds).
The neighbourhood offers terrific local "community" schools, many neighbourhood parks, great shopping and lots of fine restaurants. At it's heart - St. Clair Ave. West itself - has been revitalized by such exciting projects as The St. Clair Express Street Car Line, and The Wychwood Art Barns. You don't need a car here - everything is within walking distance and access to dowtown, express highways, and to The Toronto International Airport is very convenient.
Considered a wonderful place to live by its established inhabitants - the attributes of The Humewood - Hillcrest neighbourhood have been much written of recently. As a result, the neighbourhood is now recognized as a "target destination" by many young Toronto home buyers.
